Regal Theaters to Double Number of 3D Screens

If you are in the camp that hates 3D and awaits the day it will go away, Regal Cinemas is raining on your parade. Theater giant Regal Entertainment Group is doubling the number of 3D screens in its theaters to 3000. Looks like Regal is betting big bucks on 3D technology being around for a while.

Currently, some theaters are forced to phase out movies faster than they'd like, even if they're still profitable, to make room for new 3D movies. There just aren't enough screens for most of them to let three or four 3D movies be playing at the same time.
