New Year’s Tweets Set New Record

Only four seconds into the New Year, Twitter broke its all-time record for tweets-per-second, thanks to those fast fingered Japanese sending out "Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu," to friends and families. According to Twitter, the new record is almost twice the previous record of 3,283 tweets per second, which was set last summer when Japan beat Denmark in the World Cup
