Facebook Fixes Bug that Disabled Accounts

It seems that Facebook has squashed a bug that apparently disabled the accounts of many users. The official excuse is that the bug was found in the system responsible for detecting fake accounts.

"Earlier today, we discovered a bug in a system designed to detect and disable likely fake accounts," a Facebook spokesperson said in an e-mail. "The bug, which was live for a short period of time, caused a very small percentage of Facebook accounts to be mistakenly disabled."

Ummm, I’m not saying Facebook is full of crap or anything but, judging by the 6,533 Brad Pitt profiles, I’d say that system has been broken for years.
