Google Maps Starts Another Border Dispute

Who ever figured Google as a nation builder? It seems lately Google has been creating a few disputes between countries over the exact placement of borders. Obviously none of the litigants have ever tried to navigate from point A to point B using step by step directions from Google Maps. big grin

You see, Costa Rica and Nicaragua aren't necessarily in agreement about who owns the areas near the San Juan River. But the Costa Ricans claim that both countries are in possession of maps that delineate a currently tolerated border, which was allegedly agreed in treaties as long ago as 1858 and 1888
