Happy Pi Day

Today is special not only because it's the first day of Daylight Saving Time, it's also Pi Day. No not that kind of pie, not American Pie, not the Revenge of the Nerds pie, but the ratio.

It's hard to pinpoint who, exactly, first became conscious of the constant ratio between the circumference of a circle and its diameter, as human civilizations seem to have been aware of it as early as 2550 BC.
