More States Propose Internet Sales Taxes
Here they go again with that internet sales tax crap. Why o’ why can’t the government (federal, state, local) live within their means? It’s not like you or I can overspend our household budget every month and then demand a raise from our employer to compensate for it.
"I see this as a trend moving along--a lot of states are considering doing it," said Joseph Henchman, director of state projects at the non-partisan Tax Foundation in Washington, D.C., which published the report. But, Henchman says, the laws "won't solve short-term budget problems, they signal business-unfriendliness, and they're probably unconstitutional."
I find it ironic that consumers have to put off purchases (including internet purchases) when times are tight but the government can continually come up with new ways to reach into your pocket. I have personally put off a 8GB DDR3 and DisplayPort to DVI dongle upgrade until next month because that’s what normal people do to balance their budgets. It’s too bad Uncle Sam can’t do the same.
