Windows XP Downgrade Lawsuit Dismissed

The antitrust lawsuit filed against Microsoft last year over Windows XP downgrades has been dismissed. The courts said Microsoft in no way benefited from the fee to downgrade to XP from Vista. The judge in the case stated that the plaintiff should have filed suit against Lenovo, the company that charged her for the downgrade, not Microsoft.

In the lawsuit, Alvarado claimed that she was being taken advantage of by Microsoft by having to pay additional money to downgrade. The problem with that assertion is that Microsoft did not charge, nor profit from, that fee. Alvarado should have filed her suit against Lenovo.
