Update In School Laptop Spying Case
The crew at Gizmodo got their hands on an e-mail to parents from the Superintendent of the Lower Merion School District that "explains" why the kids were being spied on. Mark my words, someone is going to get fired over this whole thing, the situation will be "resolved" and that will be the end of that. Or will it?
It has taken a class-action suit and massive media coverage to actually acknowledge than the technical glitch was actually security software, installed on purpose to "track lost, stolen and missing laptops." It's just too bad that, according to the students, they were using that software to randomly spy on them at their own homes.
