Facebook Teams With McAfee for Security

Facebook has announced a partnership with McAfee that offers its users security software free for six months. After the trial period, the normal subscription fee applies. While I like the idea of giving Facebook users special deals, you can get many other really good security solutions that are completely free. A partnership using a free service like Microsoft’s Security Essentials would have made more sense to me.

Today, we are announcing a year-long partnership with McAfee to offer all 350 million people who use Facebook the ability to download a six-month subscription to McAfee security software at no cost, along with a special discount once the six months are over.
