Microsoft Developer Kid’s Corner Site Launched
Talk about starting ‘em early. Microsoft’s Beginner Developer Learning Center site, which is targeted at programming newbies, launched a "Kid’s Corner" area that offers videos to teach K-12 kids about the Internet and then Object-Oriented programming. Man, when I was 9, all I wanted to do was ride my bike and play guns with friends. Now, my 9 year old can sit and learn the basics of Visual Basic before he can even shave. The comments on the site are great too.
Written on the main page of the section is, "Are you a cool kid who wants to impress your friends and family with your mad skillz? Check out the Kid's Corner for lots of fun, easy to understand lessons on programming!" Mad skillz are an ever valuable asset to have, and hopefully it will draw the interest of the cool kids in question.
