Hitachi to Admit to Fixing LCD Prices

The non-news of the day would have to be Hitachi finally admitting to LCD price fixing and agreeing to a $31 million fine. To be honest, we have covered the price fixing debacle since the whole thing came to light a few years back. Hitachi finally admitting to it now and paying only $31 million is sort of anticlimactic. Hitachi has agreed to plead guilty to conspiring to fix prices on the sale of LCD panels. The Japan-based electronics firm agreed to pay a $31 million fine as part of its deal with the U.S. Justice Department.
