Intel to be Awarded Emmy at CES

Intel, along with several other companies will be honored by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences with an Emmy for help in the development of High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI). HDMI provides the digital connection allowing people to enjoy the very best viewing at home from their HD TVs along with other consumer electronic devices such as set top boxes, DVD and Blu-ray media players. To ensure that high-value content is available to people, and to meet the needs of the content creation community, High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) was created by Intel to protect content rights during transmission from a source device to a display device. The advancements in this technology has resulted in over a billion HDMI/HDCP interfaces in use worldwide today.
