Blogger Resolves Copyright Spat With AP

There has been a back-and-forth fight between bloggers and the Associated Press for a while now and it seems to be coming to an end. The AP claims to be having a "constructive exchange" with a "number of interested parties in the blogging community" but who those people are is anyone's guess. At least they are talking.

In a statement Friday, Rogers Cadenhead said he is "glad" the dispute over his site, the Drudge Retort, has ended. He said a larger conflict remains between AP's view of acceptable use of its content and the practices of many bloggers. Cadenhead declined to comment further, referring all questions to his attorney.

This is a problem we talk about here a lot. Our job here is to point out stuff we think you guys will be interested in. We give you a basic idea what the article is about, a small quote, maybe a picture and then let you decide if it is interesting enough to click on. We do not cut and paste whole stories or reprint articles without permission. There are a lot of sites out there that do that kind of stuff but we are not one of them. Besides, we do enough around here to piss people off as it is, don’t you think? big grin
