AMD Sees Improved RV670 Yields

DigiTimes, citing industry sources, claims that AMD has seen a noticeable increase in yields of its RV670 chips fabbed at TSMC. The speculation is that better yields will translate into more competitive prices. Here’s a quote from the article:

AMD is expected to grow its penetration in the mainstream graphics card market after seeing a meaningful cost down thanks to improved yields for its RV670 series chips, according to industry sources. RV670 chips, fabbed under Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's (TSMC's) 55nm process, have seen a noticeable increase in yields recently, the sources noted, which will enable AMD to be more price competitive, they believe.
