HP Blackbird Landing Soon?
We have seen reports of HP’s “Blackbird” desktop computer that is rumored to be soon released. We all know that HP bought the somewhat lumbering Voodoo PC last year from what seemed to be a kneejerk reaction to Dell’s acquisition of Alienware. Whatever you make of the buyout, the Blackbird represents HP’s first Voodoo inspired PC. The expected overclocking, aluminum chassis, and water cooling are included. The Blackbird pictured below does not include the full liquid cooling system that might be seen on other more expensive models.
More than a few of you will recognize the GeForce 8800 SLI configuration and ASUS motherboard. One interesting design component is the way the case is held off the floor by use of a cantilever type footing. This is said to bring airflow to the bottom of the case allowing for the installation of a PSU in excess of 1KW. Worth also noting is that this is a test unit so the fit and finish will not be the same as seen in the retail product.
