Privatunes: iTunes Anonymizer

A while back we had reported that DRM free iTunes tracks were being distributed with your personal information attached in an unencrypted form. A French company has created a a free program called Privatunes that can remove that information. I have to wonder how long before the lawyers circle.

The free software, which is currently only available for Microsoft, allows consumers to erase their name and e-mail addresses from their iTunes Plus files. The software, which can only anonymize one file at a time, also offers to make a backup of the original file.
