TiVo Posts First-Ever Quarterly Profit

TiVo posted its first-ever quarterly profit yesterday. The company credits increased revenues and effective cost cutting measures for the positive quarterly results.

The pioneer of digital video recorders swung to a small profit even though its cumulative number of subscribers dipped slightly to 4.3 million in its fiscal first quarter. TiVo officials said the results were helped by higher product prices and reduced rebate offers.
