Chip Sales Up 11.3%
The Semiconductor Industry Association is reporting that strong demand for consumer electronics has fueled the 11.3 percent increase in semiconductor sales compared to last year.
The CEA said sales of certain electronics, such as flat-panel displays and digital forecasts, topped forecasts, which compensated for eroding average sales prices on some products. Sales of digital cameras, for example, were up 30 percent over last year.
