Google Loses Belgian Appeal

Google lost its appeal to overturn a Belgian court order requiring the company to publish an earlier ruling against it that forbid them from reproducing article snippets on its news service. Google faces a fine of $640,900 a day until it complies.

The world's most popular Web search engine faces a daily fine of 500,000 euros ($640,900) for not posting the Sept. 5 decision on its Belgian Web site. It said on Friday it still refuses to post the ruling.

Google is still refusing to comply. If I was the search giant, I’d take it one step further and make every search result for Belgium be “waffles” just to be mean. Mmmmm, Belgian Waffles.
