ESA Confirms E3 To Be Downsized
It looks as though the rumors of a smaller, downsized E3 has been confirmed by the ESA were true. The ESA says it will be a more "intimate" show in the future.
The event, which has been held each year at the Los Angeles Convention Center, attracts tens of thousands of journalists, exhibitors, retailers and others. But in its release Monday about its E3 plans, the ESA said it intends the show to be "more intimate" and that it would not have the feel of a giant trade show in the future.
The future of the show, regardless what is being reported by the ESA, is now seriously in question. How many of the big players will pull out now completely in favor of independent expos / shows? Why even bother with LA now? I think this Penny Arcade comic says it all.
