Elpida, Toshiba Make World's Fastest DRAMs:
Rambus is back in the news today and it has nothing to do with lawsuits or courtrooms. Toshiba and Elpida both are laying claim to the worls’s fastest DRAMs based on XDR memory interface technology from Rambus.
XDR DRAM is geared for high-end applications, such as digital televisions and home servers. It is based on the XDR memory interface technology developed by Rambus.
MS Mobile Video Download Service:
It would seem that Microsoft has launched a video download service so that Windows mobile based devices can download video content like TV and video clips.
The MSN Video Downloads service draws on content from Microsoft partners such as CinemaNow Inc., MSNBC.com and TiVo Inc., allowing subscribers to watch video on their smart phones, Pocket PCs and Portable Media Centers.
Supercomputer “Jaguar” Progressing:
It is pretty cool to hear about supercomputers with cool names like “Jaguar” and the progress they are making but damn it, can we just get the thing put together and set some speed records already?
The high-performance units are part of a new Cray Corp. XT3 supercomputer, nicknamed "Jaguar," that could be reaching record speed before year's end.
