Radeon 9100 IGP:
UKGamer has taken the Radeon 9100 IGP and tested it against other value VGA solutions. The article is for people making a budget box, you know…the kind of PC that costs less than a high end video card.
Value graphics, a dirty word in the vocabulary of gaming is something that we love to ignore but times maybe changing thanks to ATI. The ability of a integrated graphics chipset to rival value graphics cards is something that dreams were made of. The Radeon 9100 IGP aims to make that dream a reality.
Homebrew Segway:
Check out this home made Segway style scooter. You too can make your own with off the shelf parts for less than half of what a Segway costs. And you’ll be able to brag that you built it yourself.
I put this scooter together in a week using off the shelf parts. Altogether it cost about $2000, or $2500 if you include the "one-time" costs of buying development kits and parts I ended up not using. It doesn't need high-tech exotic components. Wheelchair motors and RC car batteries work fine.
No Warranty Issues:
Jeremy sends us this little nugget of info regarding CenDyne’s warranties. CenDyne makes new wireless network adapters for consoles, CDROM, DVD drives. For those of you who don’t know, we told you back in August about CenDyne having to shut its doors because they owed creditors millions and millions of dollars. No RMAs for people with drive problems
For those customers that have sent a CenDyne product with a Return Authorization Number before August 8th, 2003, the warranty service should have been performed and you will receive your product soon. For those who have sent a CenDyne product after August 8th, 2003, your product will not be repaired. Therefore, you should be receiving it back soon. CenDyne is no longer providing warranty services."
Bridge It Update:
We posted a link to the new Bridge It demo offered by NVIDIA and Chronic Logic the other day only to have a lot of you guys write in to say the install hosed your box. If you are having issues with the demo you should contact NVIDIA, but let this also be a reminder to set a restore point or be aware that this demo could screw up your OS.
Just want to inform you that the "Bridges" demo , hosed my box. For some inane reason the bridges demo installs a NVDeamon in the startup, Killed all kinds of associations, hell I cant even run sierra/halflife.... Tried to reinstall windows, cant even get that to complete, hangs on system configuration. A warning would have been proper.
