Corsair SPEC-Omega Mid-Tower Gaming Case Review

The Corsair Carbide SPEC-Omega Mid-Tower Gaming Case comes with what Corsair calls an "asymmetrical, angular, bold and dynamic look" so that you will never confuse it with anything else. Beyond that, we want to know how well it works out for a new build and if can give us enough airflow to keep all our hot hardware nice and cool.

Corsair Carbide SPEC-Omega Mid-Tower Gaming Case

We’re reviewing Corsair’s Carbide SPEC-OMEGA mid-tower ATX computer case today. Corsair’s Carbide SPEC-OMEGA mid-tower gaming case is the company’s high-end chassis featuring the striking angular lines characteristic of the SPEC line of cases. It features a tempered glass side panel and a tempered glass front panel. It’s available in Black and Red, Black and White, and Black on Black variants; these all feature the same case with differently colored front and top plastic panels. Unlike the lower-end SPEC-04, the SPEC-OMEGA features a lighted LED strip embedded in the front panel themselves.

Considering its looks, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and because I like this form of angular, cubist modern art, I like this case’s appearance just as I like the SPEC-04. However, I can certainly understand that some might be immediately turned off by its looks.

Corsair’s MSRP for this case is $100 ($99.99 with $8 shipping at Newegg - $99.99 with Prime Shipping at Amazon), putting it in competition with cases that feature good build quality, appearance, and performance. While the SPEC-OMEGA certainly stands out in terms of its looks, we’ll find out whether its performance is remarkably good, remarkably bad, or unremarkable compared to similarly-priced cases.
