Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX Mid Tower Chassis Review
Today we review the new computer case from Phanteks, the Enthoo EVOLV Mid Tower Chassis. It brings with it full aluminum construction and promises features such as quick release side panels, top mount radiator brackets, a new data drive mounting system, and lots of pretty LEDs in four different colors.
Introduction
Today we are reviewing the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX. Phanteks, primarily known for its CPU coolers and line of cooling fans, really knocked us off our feet with its first foray into the chassis market, the Phanteks Enthoo Primo. In the end, the company truly delivered on its "ultimate chassis" claims. The next chassis we reviewed from Phanteks was the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV. While this chassis earned high marks, there were aspects of the case we felt could use some improvement. Fast forward to today, we have the Enthoo EVOLV ATX case on the test bench and, at least at first glance, it seems as though the company has improved the design and addressed many of the issues we had with the Enthoo EVOLV at the same time.
From the Phanteks about us page:
Phanteks was founded from a group of engineers with a total of 20 years of international experience in thermal solutions. They paired up with a Dutch design team and established Phanteks in 2007. Phanteks venture into the CPU cooling industry with two goals in mind, "High-end quality and innovative products in thermal solutions."
As a relatively young company, we strive to develop top quality and superior products. Our first product, PH-TC14PE, was a great success in the overclocking community. With the success we have made, we are more passionate in developing new and better innovative cooling solutions than ever. Our Phanteks Design Team is situated in the Netherlands and consists of creative researchers, designers and developers whose only desires are to bring the latest cutting edge technology to you.
We are continuously pursuing excellence in thermal solutions so that we can develop and bring satisfaction to the enthusiasts and computer users everywhere. Our goal is to be the best in the industry and our motto is "no job is impossible."
The product page for the Phanteks EVOLV ATX states:
The EVOLV ATX, a premium all-aluminum mid-tower chassis based on the original EVOLV design. Like the Enthoo EVOLV, the EVOLV ATX has a minimalistic design with an all-aluminum exterior but without sacrificing on features. The EVOLV ATX features Phanteks’ quick release side panels, innovative top radiator bracket, and the new HDD mounting system. Unleash unlimited possibilities with the Enthoo EVOLV ATX.
Let's get right down to it and see what the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX brings to the table.
Product Packaging
The Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX was shipped inside a brown cardboard outer box that showed definite signs of wear. The product packaging inside the outer box was in great shape overall with only a minor ding in the top and no damage to the case itself. The overall package measurements are 24"H x 23"L x 13"W and both (inner and outer boxes) are constructed of double-walled corrugated cardboard with a double row of staples along the seams.
The front of the box prominently features a hero shot of the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX and product information with a list of features on the back and sides. The case itself is covered with a plastic bag and held in place by thick Styrofoam inserts with an additional Styrofoam panel covering the front of the case.
