Enermax MaxRevo 1500W Power Supply Review

Enermax is a long time trusted brand name here at HardOCP and today we see Enermax' biggest and baddest desktop PSU yet, a whopping 1500 watts. The MaxRevo 1500W comes with a long list of features that Enermax touts for this unit as well as some patented technology. So does all this make it a great PSU?


Enermax Technology Corporation is a company that is well known in the world of power supplies and general computing alike. Founded in 1990 Enermax has made a name for itself by providing solid performing power supplies, among other computer components, and accessories. Enermax' current lines of power supplies encompass a wide range of products targeted at various market segments including the Platimax, MaxRevo, Modu87+, Pro87+, Revolution85+, MODU82+, PRO82+, LibertyECO, NAXN, and Tomahawk series. In addition to being a retail presence with its Enermax brand power supplies, Enermax Technology Corporation appears to be one of the few real OEM designers of power supplies. Its power supplies however, have only rarely shown up under other labels including Grow Up Japan, Sapphire, and its house brand Lepa. Today we are looking at the current largest member of Enermax’ MaxRevo line of power supplies the MaxRevo 1500W (EMR1500EWT).

Once More to the Revolutionary Fields

Today’s Enermax MaxRevo 1500W is the largest capacity power supply we have seen under the Enermax brand to date. At 1500W, it is also in a somewhat rarefied field of power supplies. Indeed, prior to this unit today, we have only seen 1500W products from Thermaltake and SilverStone (we have also seen 1600W products from Ultra and under the Lepa brand). Even though the field of options here is thin, when you swing with this much lumber the expectations are certainly very high. However, Enermax has been building up to this level nicely as, previous to this unit, we did see the Enermax MaxRevo 1350W some time ago and at that time that unit was very good.
