Seventeam E-Force 750W Power Supply Review
Seventeam is a longtime PSU builder that has just recently started focusing on the enthusiast market in North America and it shows in its marketing. Today's 750 watt power supply is touted as, "Meets ATX 12V V2.3 standard," is Windows 7 Ready, and carries the 80Plus Bronze badge that is described as "High Efficiency."
Introduction
Seventeam Electronics Company is a company that has flown under the consumer power supply radar for some time in the US even though it has been making power supplies for close to 20 years. This is for good reason as a quick search of its website shows a large number of server oriented offerings that would not be noticed by most enthusiast consumers. This product structuring has changed a bit over the last few years as we have seen a number of Seventeam based power supplies in the US consumer market from Ultra, SilverStone, and Cooler Master. Today, however, we are seeing our first Seventeam branded product and this particular product is the 750W model from its E-Force line, the ST-750PWL.
Is the Force Strong with this One?
The Seventeam E-Force 750W is the first power supply we have seen directly from Seventeam. Previously, we have seen a number of brands use Seventeam for products and overall we have had quite the mixed bag of results from those products. Our most recent review of such a product was quite simply a wreck. Today, though, is a new day and we have the E-Force 750W to see how things look from Seventeam branded offerings. Before moving on, let’s see what Seventeam has to say about this unit, which is not much. Marketing is not the company’s strong point:
● Meets ATX 12V V2.3 standard
● Full range voltage: 100-240Vac
● Active PFC ( power factor correction) > 0.99
● High Standard compatibility: Support High performance SLI VGA Card
Support Multi-Core CPU
● Double independent +12V rails, provide powerful output Voltage
● High Efficiency >82%
● 120mm ultra silent fan (fan acoustics: <20dBA) delivers efficient air flow
● Comb-shaped heat sink made from highly conductive metal:
low turbulent flow d elivers better heat dissipation.
● Double-Forward circuit design for high efficiency and performance
● PSU Protection Functions:OPP、UVP、SCP、OVP、OTP
As there is not much there but a few bullet points, let’s move on and see what we have to look forward to when we purchase the Seventeam E-Force 750W power supply in terms of documentation, accessories, cable count, rail layout, output characteristics, and general build quality.
