First Time Gaming Experience with ATI Eyefinity

There has been a lot of talk about getting Eyefinity working with the latest games. We wanted to cover this with the latest and greatest games out in the last couple of weeks. We run Bad Company 2, Supreme Commander 2, and Aliens vs. Predator for the first time and show you what it takes to configure the games for a 3x1 Eyefinity Landscape configuration at 5760x1200.

Introduction

If you are not up to date with ATI's Eyefinity multi-display gaming technology we would suggest reading up here, here and, here. If you are up to date and an avid HardOCP reader, you will know that most of the staff here at HardOCP are very big advocates of the Eyefinity gaming experience. But we all know that the playing the game is not the only component of PC gaming. Configuration issues can be problems when it comes to running the latest game on super-high-end desktop systems.

Given that Eyefinity gaming has had some time to mature, we wanted to kick the tires on it and see just how easy it was now days to get Eyefinity up and running with the latest games. We execute Bad Company 2, Supreme Commander 2, and Aliens vs. Predator for the first time and show you what it takes to configure the games for a 3x1 Eyefinity Landscape configuration at 5760x1200. So basically, what we are showing you is just how the game reacted on a normal Eyefinity system that is used every day here at HardOCP. The days of going in an editing config files is hopefully drawing closer to an end.
