BFGTech GeForce GTX 260 OCX MAXCORE

Today, BFGTech is launching its new and improved GeForce GTX 260 GPU based video cards. The new GeForce GTX 260 GPU benefits from 24 more stream processors, but maintains the same clocks. BFGTech has ramped up the clock speeds in OCX fashion. We evaluate and compare to the original GTX 260 GPU and a Radeon HD 4870.

Test Setup

We will be using a quad-core CPU based platform on an ASUS Blitz Extreme motherboard and an Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 (Overclocked to 3.6 GHz), and 4GB of OCZ 3P-1600EB4GK DDR3 to make sure the system will not be bottlenecking the GPUs.

Comparison Setup

We are overclocking our CPU from 3.2GHz to 3.6GHz (11x333) so that we can reduce CPU limitations.

For the BFGTech GeForce GTX 260 MAXCORE and the old GTX 260, we are using drivers supplied by BFGTech. These are the latest version drivers currently supported for the new GTX 260 MAXCORE.

We also have Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista installed.

Please be aware we test our video cards a bit differently from what is the norm. We concentrate on examining the real-world gameplay that each video card provides.
