What’s Next managed to secure a recorded audio interview with The Pirate Bay’s Peter Sunde. In it Peter says why the site was sold, talks a little about the future for the site and touches on the huge disappointment being expressed by the site’s fans. It’s a very interesting interview, although in common with everything else going on today, it raises even more questions.

Invisibility Cloaks May Shield Buildings From Earthquakes

Let me get this straight, someone has come up with a way to shield buildings from earthquakes? I’m not calling BS on this one just yet but I live in earthquake country, I’d have to see this to believe it.

Sound like fiction? It’s not! Stefan Enoch and his team at the Fresnel Institute in Marseilles, France have been studying other applications for the physics behind invisibility cloaks. The result of their research is an "earthquake cloak" that could render objects "invisible" to shocks, storm waves or tsunamis. And they aren’t even Level 8 mages!

Mythbuster Tweets His Way Out of $11k Phone Bill

Remember the $11k phone bill that Mythbuster Adam Savage got from AT&T for using the internet in Canada? It looks like the bill has been dropped. Pretty funny how fast you can get things done when this stuff happens to a celebrity with a huge following.

Asustek Lowers Prices to Clear Stock

According to DigiTimes, Asustek is lowering prices on its 7" and 8.9" Eee PCs to lower inventory. Maybe now might be a good time to pick up one up?

Prices for 7-inch models in the Taiwan market have been lowered from NT$6,999 to NT$4,999 (US$153) while prices for the 8.9-inch 900A in the China market have been cut to 1,499 yuan (US$219), according to sources in the retail channel.

Tech Recovery To Start in Fourth Quarter

According to a new report from Forrester Research, the tech industry will recover in the fourth quarter. The bad news? The company’s last prediction on first quarter spending was way off, oops… I mean "results were worse than forecast." So there you have it, analysts say we are set for a recovery, unless we don’t have one.

The analyst firm reduced its forecast for 2009 information technology spending from a 3 percent decline to a 10.6 percent decline, but it's the hitting bottom, it said. Spending should return to growth in the fourth quarter in the United States, and in the first half of 2010 in Europe and Asia, Forrester said, basing its forecast on newly collected data.
