FBI Spyware Used to Nab Hackers and Extortionists

The FBI using spyware to catch hackers, thieves and scumbags? Oh, the sweet irony!

Blu-ray Sales Nearly Double in 2009

According to Adams Media Research, Blu-ray sales have almost doubled compared to the same time last year. The article also says the format is rolling out slower than DVD but it is still moving faster than VHS.

Indeed, Blu-ray revenue through March 29 totaled $196.6 million, up nearly 68% from $117.2 million during the same period last year, according to Home Media Research. "At least twice as many homes have a BD player, so it is very expectable that it would double or more," Adams said.

Ubuntu 9.04 Release Candidate Is Here

For those of you that simply cannot wait another week for the final version, there is a new Ubuntu 9.04 release candidate available for download as we speak.

The minimum memory requirement for Ubuntu 9.04 is 256 MB of memory. Note that some of your system's memory may be unavailable due to being used by the graphics card. If your computer has only the minimum amount of memory, the installation process will take longer than normal, but will complete successfully, and the system will perform adequately once installed.

AP Copyright Lawsuit Takes A Funny Turn

We filed our answer to The AP's counterclaims yesterday, and it's attached below. The interesting part is at the end, where we illustrate the double standard the AP seems to employ when it comes to using copyrighted works.

Introducing The Caseless Case

How is this for a "minimalist" case! This is basically an acrylic motherboard tray that has slots for your hard drive, optical drive, a space for your PSU, a built in handle and not much else. Imagine taking that to your next LAN party.
