System Running Four 9800GX2 Video Cards

Is running four GeForce 9800GX2 in your system practical? Ummm, no. Is it cool? Yes. Why would anyone do such a thing? Because you can. I’d be happy with a couple of those 9800GX2s. While this set-up is excessive, maybe a Quad SLI set up would be more to your liking.

Mozilla to Users: Come Slam our Network!

Innovative PR stunt or recipe for disaster? I like the idea, I just hope the Mozilla IT team is ready!

The Firefox evangelists at Mozilla have a novel goal: they want to set a Guinness World Record for the most software downloaded in 24 hours. To get there, the open source browser builders declared a Download Day and are soliciting pledges to grab the browser on release day, which hasn't yet been announced.

BFG Announces Limited Edition NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 OCX

BFG Technologies®, Inc., the leading North American and European supplier of advanced NVIDIA-based 3D graphics cards, power supplies and other PC enthusiast products, announced today the limited edition BFG NVIDIA® GeForce® 9800 GX2 OCX™ 1024MB PCI Express® 2.0 graphics card, which is factory overclocked to the highest stable level to provide maximum performance in demanding 3D games and HD video applications.

“We took the already blazing fast BFG GeForce 9800 GX2 and safely increased the core clock by 80MHz, the memory data rate by 100MHz, and the shader clock by a whopping 174MHz”, said John Malley, senior director of marketing for BFG Technologies. “This OCX version is perfect for customers who want to squeeze every last drop of performance out of the fastest graphics card currently available, but don’t want to take the risk of overclocking this complex dual GPU graphics card themselves.”

Saints Row 2 Delayed

Reuters is reporting that Saints Row 2 has been delayed by a month and a half citing “product quality, marketing issues.” Hopefully they get everything hammered out, I for one, am a big fan of the first game.

THQ Inc said on Wednesday it will delay release of a key video game, "Saints Row 2", by nearly two months due to product quality and marketing concerns.

Hackers Hit Comcast

Hackers have hit Comcast, defacing their website and WHOIS records. Unfortunately, as with all hack attacks, this will simply garner sympathy for Comcast and take the spotlight off their shady practices.

This morning many people will be celebrating as reports circulate that in the last few hours Comcast has been the subject of a hacking which defaced its homepage (mirror here). The hackers appear to have changed the Comcast DNS/WHOIS records which were pointing at a non-Comcast address.

ASUS P5N-T Deluxe

We encountered a number of issues during our evaluation of the ASUS P5N-T Deluxe and the whole process took far longer than we anticipated because of it. In the end we realized the P5N-T, for a number of reasons, just isn’t a board we could recommend. Hit the link for all the details.

Editor's Note: I think it is worth mentioning that yes, this review is very "late." Products such as the P5N-T that show stability issues sometimes prove to be 3x or 4x the workload of a board that works properly. Still we try to work through and make sure that we are not doing something wrong rather than just assuming it is a hardware problem. This is one of the reasons we use two completely independent reviewers, operating systems, and equipment to review each board. Basically every board is reviewed twice.
