It seems that YouTube competitors need to really reconsider thier attack plan. YouTube is pretty much dwarfing everyone else netting more hits than all competition combined.
"As of May 2007, YouTube's market share was 50 percent greater than those 64 sites combined," Hitwise research director LeeAnn Prescott said in a summary of her firm's data.
Believe it or not, search engine optimization (or sabotage depending on your point-of-view) has become a very lucrative business.
Scott offers what he and some other search marketers call "negative search engine optimization" or "negative SEO," a harmless-sounding term that amounts to sabotaging a Web site's ranking in search engine results.
Blu-ray is attempting to counter a current special running on the HD-DVD side. Any purchase of a BR device between July 1 and September 30 will also net you 5 free movies.

It seems that teenage intimidation is on the rise online. The major areas of problem are apparently social networking sites like MySpace.
According to the study, young women are most affected by and more likely to report experiencing online harassment. Forty-one percent of women between the ages of 15 and 17 who use the Internet reported harassment, while 29 percent of young men in that age range report having been harassed online.
It seems as though several companies are voicing their opinions in the debate over patent reform. Among many other issues, some feel that the application system needs a lot of work. Others are concerned the presently considered provisions could hurt companies in the long run who want to protect their patents.
"Taking a comprehensive approach to patent reform is critical," the letter continues. "Under today's system, standards governing damage awards are unpredictable and the post-grant review process encourages litigation as a first step."
If you get an e-mail warning you about a Microsoft Outlook zero-day exploit just delete it. It is simply another phishing scam.
The Security Bulletin (MS07-0065) it points to doesn’t exist. And just because it can never be said too often, I’ll say it again here. Microsoft does not alert users to security issues via e-mail. Ever. That’s what Windows Update is for.

Reggie Fils-Aime sat down for an interview with Newsweek where he discussed such topics as yesterday's Wii-Ware announcement, as well as the recent Manhunt 2 controversy that we have been covering since the beginning.
Was a game like Manhunt 2 ultimately not in keeping with the family-friendly image of the Wii? "This is not an image issue," said Fils-Aime. "Wii welcomes games rated E, T and M. We haven't approved AO-rated games. I doubt we ever will. What Rockstar has right now is a game rated outside our spectrum, outside any manufacturer's spectrum."
The University of Washington has agreed to assist RIAA by forwarding on demands to offenders. The college did state that they would not disclose personal information without appropriate court orders.
The university said this week that it will forward demands from the Recording Industry Association of America, making it easier for the industry group to recover thousands of dollars from UW students. Without the UW's cooperation, the recording association would need to obtain a court order to do that.
Today’s sighting really isn’t all that random. Steve was nice enough to check in while on vacation to share some amazing images with us.
