Microchip Shares Poised To Rise As Inventories Fall

Reuters is saying that the U.S. semiconductor industry has finally worked through the stockpiles of inventory they had sitting around and stocks may rise as excess inventory falls.

Analysts said they expect shares of companies that make microchips to rise in the coming months, as orders increase from customers that were using up inventory in the fourth quarter.

Intel VCG Chief Architect Identified

Beyond3D has posted more information about Intel’s new Visual Computing Group Chief Architect. I don’t want to steal the thunder from the folks at B3D so head on over and find out who will be heading up Intel’s GPU project.

The graphics world has been atwitter in recent months over swirling rumors and indications of a re-entry by Intel into high-end graphics. Speculation has centered around the so-called "Larrabee group", which recently was identified on Intel's own pages as their "Visual Computing Group". Now, courtesy of a couple of seminar pages at major universities, VCG's "Chief Architect" has come to light.

The long awaited WHQL Certified ForceWare Vista drivers are out in the 32-bit flavor as well as the 64-bit version. The nView control panel is MIA and the NV Control panel still lacks features. Grab them if you need them.

AMD Recognizes The Socket 939 Alliance

AMD has recognized the Socket 939 Alliance and, as a token of their appreciation, has given FX-55 + motherboard combos and T-shirts to 11 random members.
